New Material

April 14, 2020

Welcome back from spring break!

Finally, we can begin new material, so I have several pieces of information I would like to share with you.

  • Please follow the schedule posted by Ms. Derr for information regarding your classwork.
  • I will be posting new instruction, resources, videos, etc. Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
  • My office hours will also be from 1:30-2:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  These office hours will be used to answer questions, prompt class discussion, and allow for any additional questions.  Please use the zoom link from my earlier blog post to access this.
  • I will provide additional tutoring on Fridays by appointment.
  • This week we will have time to finish the Hamlet paper and begin working on new standards.
  • The paper and new assignments will not be scored, but they will develop skills and standards that will be useful in your advancing courses.
  • Don't forget, April 17 is the last day to turn in any missing work from the semester.  You can only turn in work that was missing.
  • If you were absent on the day of the Socratic seminar, that assignment will be exempt from your grade.  This is due to the fact that no new material/assignments can be graded.
  • For Tuesday, April 14, the task we will focus on is completing the essay.
    • Please complete the introduction and conclusion of your essay.
    • Make sure all quotes are properly cited.
    • Proofread for clarity.
    • Email me with questions.
  • Here are some resources that will help with these paragraphs.
  • While there is no official deadline for a grade, you should try to have these essays completed by Thursday, April 16.  When you are finished, please email me the document directly at kregan.lec@lee.k12.nc.us.  I will be reading through these over the next two weeks, and adding feedback directly to the document through the comment tool.  My goal is to have them graded by May 1.
  • Beginning on Thursday, we will work on making inferences and determining theme.
  • Lastly, the staff will be meeting with Ms. Derr later today, and I will update the blog if there is any news.
  • As always, stay happy, stay healthy, and stay positive.
